How to customize the confirmation or error message after submitting a form?

Why personalize form messages

Key points • A clear message reassures your visitors after they submit a form • Error messages improve understanding and reduce abandonment • Good personalization reinforces your hotel's professional image

Customizing confirmation and error messages is essential for providing a polished user experience on your hotel website. After submitting a form, your visitors should be immediately reassured: their request has been received, or a field needs to be corrected. Here's how to tailor these messages to your needs.

To begin, select your form in the Designer. You will find two dedicated elements in the form structure: • the Success Message (confirmation message) • the Error Message (error message)

These blocks are already present as invisible boxes until the form is submitted. Click on each one to edit the text, add a custom style, or even integrate visual elements such as icons, a border, or formatting that highlights your establishment.

In the Success Message, you can display clear and reassuring text: • “Thank you, your request has been successfully sent. Our team will respond within 24 hours.” • “Your message has been received. We will get back to you very soon.” This message should be professional and tailored to the nature of the form (contact, quote, event booking, etc.).

💡 Tip: You can also redirect your visitor to a dedicated thank you page. This allows you to offer additional steps (brochure download, links to rooms, promotions, etc.). This option is configured in the Form Settings, where you can define a redirect URL.

For the Error Message, customize the instructions to help your visitor correct the form without frustration: • “Please check the required fields.” • “The email address entered appears to be invalid.” • “A required field is missing or incorrect.”

Ensure this message is visible, clear, and consistent with your hotel's branding. You can adjust: • background color • typography • alignment • margins and spacing

This ensures that your formulations remain elegant and consistent with your hotel design.

In the Form Settings, also ensure that: • required fields are correctly defined • email, phone, or text validations are enabled • labels and placeholders are sufficiently descriptive

Test your form several times:

  1. By correctly filling in all the fields
  2. By intentionally leaving a field blank
  3. By entering an invalid email address
  4. By submitting the form without an internet connection (browser simulator)

This allows you to verify that your messages appear correctly and that they guide your visitors properly.

Conclusion

Customizing form confirmation and error messages is simple and essential for providing a polished user experience. By adjusting the text, design, and redirects, you enhance the professionalism of your hotel website and facilitate communication with your guests.
