How to force translation updates after a change on Webflow

Update your translations automatically and without errors

Key points:

  • Localize detects text changes after your Webflow site is published.
  • You can force a new scan (“Rescan”) to update the translations.
  • This is essential after each addition, deletion, or modification of content.

When you edit text, a button, or a block on Webflow, Localize doesn't immediately update the corresponding translations. To ensure your international visitors see the new translated version, you need to force Localize to re-scan your site to detect recent changes.

Step 1: Publish your changes to Webflow

  1. Log in to Webflow Editor or Designer. Make your changes (text, buttons, paragraphs, etc.).
  2. Click “Publish” in the top right corner to update your site. Localize cannot detect changes to unpublished content.

💡 Tip: Wait a few minutes after publication for all pages to be fully accessible online.

Step 2: Run a rescan in Localize

  1. Log in to your Localize account. Select the project linked to your Webflow site.
  2. Go to “Settings” → “Languages” or “Translations”. You will see the list of existing strings.
  3. Click on “Rescan Website” (or “Scan for new content”). Localize will re-analyze all published pages to detect:
    • the new texts,
    • the amended texts,
    • and those that were removed.
  4. Wait for the scan to finish. The new channels will automatically appear in your dashboard, ready to be translated or updated.

💡 Tip: If a modified text does not update, delete the outdated version in Localize before rescanning.

Step 3: Review and republish the translations

  1. Open the “Untranslated” or “Updated” section. Localize will display the text that has changed since the last scan.
  2. Translate or adjust manually. Enter the new version of the text in each language.
  3. Save your changes. The translations are immediately active on your Webflow site.

💡 Tip: Enable automatic translation for small changes, but keep manual control for important texts (titles, CTAs, SEO).

Step 4: Check the rendering on your website

  • Reload the Webflow page in each language.
  • Clear your browser cache if the old text is still displayed.
  • Test on mobile to confirm that everything has updated correctly.

Best practices for hotels

  • Schedule an automatic weekly rescan if you frequently update your content (offers, menus, news).
  • Keep a history of translations to avoid inconsistencies.
  • After each major update, perform a complete proofreading in your primary languages (FR, EN, ES, DE).

Conclusion

To force translation updates after a change on Webflow, simply republish your site and then rescan it in Localize. This ensures that your new pages, offers, or text are correctly translated into all languages, for a seamless and professional experience on your hotel website.
