How do I temporarily unpublish a page?

Put a page offline without deleting it

Key features • Easy unpublishing from project settings • Immediate removal of a page while keeping it internally • Ideal for seasonal pages, pages undergoing maintenance or redesign • Allows you to work on a page without it being publicly visible

Temporarily unpublishing a page is very useful for a hotel website when you want to hide a seasonal offer, rework a rooms page, prepare a new version of the spa, or update a landing page. The page remains in your project but is no longer accessible online.

Unpublish a page from the project settings

The easiest way to remove a page from the public site is to act directly in the Project Settings.

  1. Access the Project Settings.
  2. Go to the Publishing / Pages tab.
  3. Find the page you want to remove.
  4. Disable its publication in the page list (according to the available options).

The page will be immediately unpublished and will no longer be visible to your visitors.

Unpublish a page by removing its published URL

If the page remains visible online, you can force its removal from publication:

  1. Open the Designer.
  2. Go to Pages → click on Page Settings.
  3. Temporarily modify the slug (e.g., add -temp).
  4. Publish the website.

The original URL becomes untraceable and the page is no longer publicly accessible.

💡 Tip: keep your new temporary URL unindexed so you can work on the page without worry.

Unpublish a CMS page

If the page originates from a CMS Collection:

  1. Open the relevant collection.
  2. Select the item.
  3. Disable Publish or delete the published version.

The page derived from this item automatically disappears from the public website.

Prevent a page from being indexed (additional option)

If you wish to hide the page from search engines in addition to unpublishing it:

  1. In the Page Settings, check "Disable indexing (noindex)".
  2. Publish again.

This option also prevents Google from displaying the old version in its results.

Verify that the page has been unpublished.

Once the page is removed, test: • the original URL (it should display a 404 error) • its absence from the site's menus or sections • its disappearance from internal search results

Conclusion

Temporarily unpublishing a page is a safe and quick way to remove content without deleting it. This is ideal for managing seasonal offers, marketing landing pages, or pages undergoing redesign, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
